Junior Designer position

ABOUT SILBER ARCHITECTS:
We are committed to an architecture that is practical, sophisticated, and relevant to our time and place. Silber Architects is a small firm with a diverse practice. We started in 1993 and our portfolio of built projects includes single family and multi-family housing, commercial, and public sector work. We believe architecture is a social art, and our practice includes work with non-profit organizations doing affordable rental housing and social service facilities.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist our Lead Designer with the creation of project schematic designs and design development documents in drawing and model form for presentation to clients and/or the public. Prepare construction documents under the supervision of Principal Architect.

SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS:
Candidate must take pride in his work, be able to communicate clearly, be well organized, and share the firm’s vision of what good architecture is about. Must be able to work in AutoCAD 2007 or higher. Pluses for this position include presentation skills and knowledge of software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and Sketch Up and good model making skills. Prior professional experience, particularly knowledge of multi-family housing, is desirable, but not required.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Masters of Architecture or Bachelor of Architecture degree.

SALARY / WAGES:
Commensurate with experience
